I somewhat agree we might never win over the St. Louis couple to support BLM. However, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. I’ve won over conservatives on some issues and encouraged them to support those issues, despite being opposed to others. I’ve told them we don’t have to agree on x, but let’s agree on y and work together to solve those issues. It has worked out for the most part.
One example is the unemployment checks. While some people refer to them as lazy, I always ask if they would want to go back to work for horrible pay. They say no. So I tell them that’s why we should increase the minimum wage so people would want to work. Not cut unemployment. They usually agree.
