Just to be clear (not trying to rain on your article), third world country refers to countries that did not ally with either NATO or the Warsaw Pact. Third world countries were neutral in the Cold War.

The better term is developing country.

I agree that to live in a developing country would be great. I've lived in Mexico as well with grandparents, and it taught me to appreciate the little things. I had more fun and felt like exploring more living in Mexico as opposed to the U.S., where we stay indoors and watch TV all the time. The U.S. lacks cultural and historical markings from 1000 years ago that Mexico and Europe have.
