To be fair, what more innovation do you expect? No company has innovated, and those that have (e.g. Samsung Galaxy Flip and Fold) are horrible products that break easily.

The smartphone industry has stagnated similar to cars before the invention of air conditioning or battery powered cars. Until something outside the industry comes in, smartphone are going to continue to stagnate.
